Hello everyone!  We have had a busy few weeks at the Zuber house, so we thought we better get to posting and update!

Elliott and Hudson's first Easter was quite a success (although mom has few pictures of it.)  We headed to Southern Indiana to celebrate with Chris' side of the family so everyone that hadn't had a chance to meet the boys could! They loved getting to see everyone and check out their first Easter egg hunt.

Back at home they are spending their days playing, rolling around and cutting teeth!  They are chewing on their own hands, each other's hand and any toy they can get their hands on.  Elliott has two bottom teeth that have poked through, and Hudson's should be here any time now.

The big event of April for the Zuber's happened this past weekend.  Along with many other people, we participated in the March for Babies in downtown Indianapolis.  Many of you knew about this through Facebook or emails that we sent out, and our fundraising was quite a success.  We raised over $3500 for this organization and had a great group of people walking with us.  We had great weather and it was fun to be able to share that time with so many people.  Here are a few pictures!

We also decided to take full advantage of the day without rain and took the boys to the Zoo for the first time.  I'm not sure who was more excited for this adventure.....Daddy or the boys! We first toured the oceans exhibit, and Elliott and Hudson couldn't get enough of the fish (that is after Elliott stopped staring at the lights, which you will see in the picture.)  Hudson was just mesmerized and I think they would have been content with just staying there.  After the fish we made our way over to the see the giraffe exhibit. It is a good thing that we got a picture at this spot because after that.....they were down for the count.  Apparently that walking wears two little boys out! We made our way through the zoo to see a few more things before exiting through the gift shop.  This trip had to be properly documented so we got each of the  boys a stuffed animal to commemorate their trip, and I think they were pleased!!!!

We again want to thank all of the people who came out to walk with us, gave a donation, and that were there in spirit!  The support you continue to give our family is absolutley amazing and always very much appreciated!

What a weekend.....

What  a weekend the boys had!  Saturday morning started off with the boys having their first attempt at oatmeal! Our first try was a pretty good one, although the boys had a look of confusion on their face as to why there were sitting up and eating.  We got some pretty funny faces, and were able to capture a few of those on camera!  I do however think that Chris and I had more fun laughing at them!  Just another milestone for these little guys, and makes you realize that they are growing up!

Saturday afternoon we got ready for the Bulldogs to play.  Hudson and Blue II were having a good chat about how they thought the game was going to go that night.  We pulled that game off....but apparently Hudson and Blue should have chatted Monday night too.

Sunday was quite the whirlwind day.  Baptism day had finally arrived.  We arrived at church to find lots of family members there waiting on us which made us so happy.  The boys snoozed through mass and then it was time to go through their first sacrament, well first sacrament at church.  Before Hudson had his PDA ligation surgery, Chris baptized the boys.  We figured we could use all the help we could get before surgery, so we made the decision to baptize Hudson just in case anything happened.  We went ahead and did Elliott's at the same time as well.  It was still very important for us to have father do all the blessings that come along with this sacrament, and have their Godparents there with them as well.  The boys behaved themselves very well, and even allowed us to take a few pictures before they had their fill.

After that we all packed up and head to our house for a lunch to celebrate and spend some quality time with the famly.  It was such a great day!!!

Here goes nothing.........

So I have gone back and forth about creating a blog for the boys.  I know that so many people followed their progress on CaringBridge, and now that we are home......people are still wondering how things have been going!  Well, I dismissed the idea for awhile, and within a matter of two day  two people brought it up, and I took it as a sign that it was time to dive into the blogging world.

Since December 18th, the date the boys went home, so much has happened (as you can imagine.)  We have gotten rid of all of the monitors that they came home on. Elliott now takes a bottle like a champ, and we got to ditch that feeding tube.  It was so nice to be able to bring him home on it, but was a stresser for Chris and I because he liked to pull it out in the middle of the night and then we would have to put it back in at an early morning feeding.  As you can imagine, Elliott wasn't real excited about getting something stuck down his nose when all he really wanted to do was eat!

They continue to amaze us each and every day.  Elliott has pretty much graduated from First Steps which was his therapy program.  He was in that for some tightness in his neck that they noticed before we left the hospital. We had a great therapist that came and worked with him once a week, and he quickly graduated from once a week to once a month...just to make sure we are on track with where we need to be.

The boys each have their own personalities.  Elliott is our social butterfly, and Hudson is our serious kid who studies the situation before he gives you his reaction.  But.....once you get Hudson to crack.....you have him! This picture sums it up pretty well....

As you can tell, they are turning into some chunky kids.  Elliott is around 15 pounds, and Hudson is around 13.  They are 7 months old now, and have started interacting with each other a lot.  Some days you hear them "talking" to each other, and just wonder what they are saying to each other.  These are the best sounds to hear, and we look forward to hearing so much more of it.

E and H have some big events coming up the in the month of April.  They get baptized this coming weekend and then we have the March of Dimes walk at the end of April.  Chris and I took part in this two years ago for his job, but never in a million years did we imagine how important this would become in our lives.  It now holds a special place in our heart because we know what these families go through, and all the support that is offered helps so many people.  The walk is April 30th!  We would love for you to join us if you can!  Here a link with more information! http://www.marchforbabies.org/personal_page.asp?pp=3640753&ct=4&w=4639225&u=chris_zuber

I know there is so much more information to post, but I don't want to overwhelm you all, or make you not want to read anymore!  I look forward to being able to keep you all updated on all the milestones that these two miracles achieve!!

See you soon!

PS:  I would like to wish all of the nurses out there "Happy Nurses Week!"  We can't even begin to tell you how amzazing the nurses we had were.  They became like family, and we still keep in touch with so many of them.  Each one of them holds such a special place in our hearts, and we are forever greatful to them.
